As a strategist for some of Vancouver’s largest charitable institutions, including United Way Lower Mainland and The University of British Columbia, Maryn has led and developed campaigns to engage and inspire action for change.
Her passion for impact-driven, creative solutions led her to joining the founding team of THNK School of Creative Leadership in 2014. As Director of Engagement, Maryn’s role is to get into the hearts and minds of organizational partners, working in collaboration with a community of Master Practitioners–a multi-disciplinary collective of storytellers, leadership coaches, entrepreneurs and designers. She helps teams embrace change, become nimble and ignite new possibilities for more inclusive, creative and resilient cultures.
The Future of Philanthropy is a topic close to Maryn’s heart. She understands the power of collaboration and knows that strategic partnerships and creative leadership are instrumental in advancing some of our society’s most pervasive issues - and that the future of philanthropy is in finding increasingly innovative and meaningful ways to work together.
Maryn’s unique experience came together to launch THNK’s inaugural Executive Leadership Program, exploring Giving 3.0 and the question of “How might we translate new forms of individual giving into radical patterns of high impact philanthropic investment that sustainably scales?” This included a cross-section of industry collaborators including non-profit, private, academia and family foundations from across North America.
