
Tania Cheng
Tania Cheng (she/they) is a social impact leader with nearly 15 years of experience working and volunteering in charities, nonprofits, social enterprises, and foundations. As the Director, Process Innovation at SheEO, Tania supports women social entrepreneurs who are working on the World’s To Do list (i.e., the SDGs) by cultivating the SheEO community’s capacity to learn, adapt, iterate, co-create, and self-organize. Concurrently, Tania serves as a Senior Consultant at Lumiere Consulting, supporting social purpose organizations, startups, and scaleups on how to do good better.
Previously, Tania spent over a decade leading youth engagement programs and advancing environmental sustainability. As Associate Director of EcoSchools Canada, she launched the organization as an independent charity from its incubator, oversaw the development of its digital platform, and led efforts to scale its award-winning environmental certification program nationally. Tania is a trained facilitator and has delivered over 200 workshops to diverse communities through her work with Me to We and SHAD.
Tania has served on the boards of Inside Out, The Otesha Project, and the granting board of TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. She holds a Master in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership from Carleton University and Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo. She was recognized with an Alumni Achievement Award by the University of Waterloo in 2017. Tania identifies as a queer, immigrant, gender non-binary and non-conforming, able-bodied, Chinese-Canadian woman.
